Job summary

SRM Concrete in Georgia is seeking a safety‑minded Tanker Operator with a valid Class A CDL to transport cement from terminals to SRM plants. You will perform pre‑trip inspections, maintain logs, and provide professional service at delivery sites.

This role offers local or regional routes with regular home time, no Sunday work, competitive hourly pay with overtime and benefits. Candidates must meet DOT regulations, have a clean driving record, and pass SRM’s pre‑employment screenings.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL; Tanker Endorsement helpful but not required.
• DOT Medical Card current.
• Minimum 2 years’ proven Class A tanker experience.
• Clean driving record with no serious tickets/accidents in 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regs and safety for material transport.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform bending/lifting/climbing.
• Excellent time management to meet delivery schedules.
• Good communication with plant personnel and customers.
• Willingness to undergo SRM’s pre-employment screenings.
• Positive, go-getter attitude aligned with SRM’s 5 Principles.

Responsibilities

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tanker truck, transporting cement from terminals to various SRM Concrete plant locations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Accurately complete and maintain logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork in line with company policies and DOT regulations.
• Communicate proactively with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and provide updates on route progress.
• Ensure secure loading and unloading of cement, preventing spillage or contamination.
• Follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures for transporting materials.
• Provide exceptional customer service at delivery sites, representing SRM Concrete with professionalism.
• Promptly report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage.
• Stay current on safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.

What Sets You Apart

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Tanker Endorsement is helpful, but not required.
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience driving Class A tanker trucks.
