Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a safety-focused Tanker Operator in the Savannah, GA area to safely transport cement from terminals to our plants. You will perform meticulous pre/post-trip inspections, maintain compliant logs, and communicate with dispatch to ensure on-time deliveries.

Ideal candidates have a valid Class A CDL, a current DOT Medical Card, and at least 2 years of tanker driving experience with a clean record. You will work local or regional routes, with home daily.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement (endorsement helpful but not required).
• Current DOT Medical Card is required.
• Minimum 2 years of proven Class A tanker driving experience.
• Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for transporting materials.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tanker truck to transport cement to SRM locations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections for safety and compliance.
• Maintain logs and delivery paperwork per DOT and company policy.
• Coordinate with dispatch for delivery instructions and routing updates.
• Ensure secure loading/unloading and prevent spills or contamination.
• Follow routes, schedules, and SRM safety procedures.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery sites.
• Report vehicle defects, incidents, or violations promptly.
• Stay updated on safety rules, policies, and best practices.

SRM Concrete is seeking a skilled Tanker Operator to safely transport cement from supply terminals to our concrete plants—playing a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly. Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tanker truck, transporting cement from terminals to various SRM Concrete plant locations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Accurately complete and maintain logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork in line with company policies and DOT regulations.
• Communicate proactively with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and provide updates on route progress.
• Ensure secure loading and unloading of cement, preventing spillage or contamination.
• Follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures for transporting materials.
• Provide exceptional customer service at delivery sites, representing SRM Concrete with professionalism.
• Promptly report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage.
• Stay current on safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.

What Sets You Apart

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Tanker Endorsement is helpful, but not required.
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience driving Class A tanker trucks.
• Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for material transport.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and climbing.
• Excellent time management skills to meet delivery schedules.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant personnel and customers.
• Willingness to undergo SRM’s pre-employment screenings.
