Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a safety‑conscious Tanker Operator with a Class A CDL to transport cement from terminals to SRM’s concrete plants in local routes. You’ll help keep operations running smoothly and uphold the company’s safety standards.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, DOT‑compliant paperwork, and professional customer service at delivery sites. A clean driving record and ability to lift up to 100 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with tanker experience is required.
• Current DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one.
• Clean driving record with no major incidents in the last 5 years.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for transporting cement.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tanker truck to transport cement from terminals to SRM plant locations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and ensure vehicle safety.
• Accurately complete logs, delivery documentation, and required paperwork per DOT rules.
• Communicate with dispatch for delivery instructions and route updates.
• Ensure proper loading/unloading and prevent spills or contamination.
• Follow routes, schedules, and safety procedures for material transport.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery sites and represent SRM with integrity.
• Promptly report defects, accidents, or safety concerns, and stay compliant with company policies.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tanker truck, transporting cement from terminals to various SRM Concrete plant locations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Accurately complete and maintain logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork in line with company policies and DOT regulations.
• Communicate proactively with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and provide updates on route progress.
• Ensure secure loading and unloading of cement, preventing spillage or contamination.
• Follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures for transporting materials.
• Provide exceptional customer service at delivery sites, representing SRM Concrete with professionalism.
• Promptly report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage.
• Stay current on safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.

What Sets You Apart

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Tanker Endorsement is helpful, but not required.
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience driving Class A tanker trucks.
• Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for material transport.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and climbing.
• Excellent time management skills to meet delivery schedules.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant personnel and customers.
• Willingness to undergo SRM’s pre-employment screenings.
