Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a safety-focused Tanker Operator to transport cement from terminals to our concrete plants, playing a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly. You will be part of a team that values safety, service, and expertise.

Role requires a Class A CDL with tanker experience, a clean driving record, and DOT compliance. We offer local/regional routes with home time, overtime potential, and comprehensive benefits to support drivers and their families.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL; Tanker Endorsement helpful but not required.
  • No manual restrictions.
  • Current DOT Medical Card.
  • Minimum 2 years’ proven experience driving Class A tanker trucks.
  • Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for material transport.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and climbing.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet delivery schedules.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant personnel and customers.
  • Willingness to undergo SRM’s pre-employment screenings.
  • Positive, "go-getter" attitude and commitment to SRM’s 5 Principles of Service: Safety, Quality, Kindness, Cleanliness, and Go-Getter.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class A tanker truck, transporting cement from terminals to SRM Concrete plant locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
  • Complete and maintain logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork per DOT regulations.
  • Communicate proactively with dispatch to receive instructions and provide updates on route progress.
  • Ensure secure loading and unloading of cement, preventing spills or contamination.
  • Follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures for transporting materials.
  • Provide professional customer service at delivery sites.
  • Promptly report any vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic violations.
  • Stay current on safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a Class A tanker truck, transporting cement from terminals to various SRM Concrete plant locations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
  • Accurately complete and maintain logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork in line with company policies and DOT regulations.
  • Communicate proactively with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and provide updates on route progress.

What Sets You Apart
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Tanker Endorsement is helpful, but not required.
