Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) seeks a skilled welder/fitter to join our Channelview, TX team. You will perform MIG and TIG welding, fit parts, and help maintain a safe, organized shop environment in compliance with OSHA standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with welding certification a plus. Possess welding and fitting skills, ready to operate acetylene torches and handle hazardous materials responsibly.

Qualifications

• Must have welding and fitting skills and be able to operate an acetylene torch.
• High school diploma or GED required; welding certificate is a plus.
• Experience in an industrial setting and familiarity with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to utilize both MIG and TIG welding.
• Order and receive parts and supplies as needed.
• Adhere to OSHA and environmental policies and safe handling of hazardous wastes.
• Clean, organize and maintain the work environment for safety and longevity.
• Ability to wear a respirator; perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Role overview:

Handles welding and fitting both mild steel and stainless steel, welding parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes. Performs thermal cutting and grinding, repairing broken or cracked parts, filling holes, increasing the size of metal parts.

Position Responsibilities:

• Must be able to utilize both MIG and TIG
• Order and receive parts and supplies as needed
• Adheres to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous wastes
• Clean, organize and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Read and comprehend measurements, and job sheets
• Worked in an industrial setting
• High school diploma or GED
