Depot Connect International (DCI) seeks an experienced welder to join our Channelview, TX team. The role focuses on welding and fitting mild and stainless steel, using gas welding, brazing, and arc welding processes.

The candidate will perform thermal cutting, grinding, and repairs, ensuring parts meet specifications. MIG/TIG proficiency, safety compliance, and the ability to read job sheets are essential requirements for this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Possess welding and fitting skills.
• Ability to operate an acetylene torch.
• Read and comprehend measurements and job sheets.
• Worked in an industrial setting.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Welding Certificate is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Handle welding and fitting of mild and stainless steel, joining parts using gas welding or brazing and arc welding.
• Perform thermal cutting and grinding, repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, increase component size.
• Must be able to utilize MIG and TIG welding.
• Order and receive parts and supplies as needed.
• Adhere to OSHA and environmental policies, proper handling of hazardous wastes.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and wear a respirator as required.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Role overview:

Handles welding and fitting both mild steel and stainless steel, welding parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes. Performs thermal cutting and grinding, repairing broken or cracked parts, filling holes, increasing the size of metal parts.

Position Responsibilities:

• Must be able to utilize both MIG and TIG
• Order and receive parts and supplies as needed
• Adheres to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous wastes
• Clean, organize and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned
