Job summary

Depot Connect International in Billings, MT is seeking a skilled technician to diagnose failures and repair mechanical, electrical, and other systems on tank trailers. This on-site role requires attention to safety and DOT compliance while delivering quality service.

The position offers a Monday–Friday shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a pay range of $21.00 to $38.00 per hour, experience-based reviews every 6 months, and opportunities for growth toward national ASME certification.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical systems on tank trailers.
• Perform tank service and repair.
• Repair trailer suspensions.
• Work with air brake systems.
• Experience with TIG welding (optional).
• Inspect tanks/trailers to meet DOT HM183/hazmat.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and perform repairs on tank trailers.
• Ensure DOT HM183 compliance during inspections.
• Collaborate with team for safety and quality.
• Assist in maintenance and preventative checks.

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

This position is for our Billings, MT branch at 1635 North Frontage Road.

Pay Range: $21.00 to $38.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (optional)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
