Job summary

Baton, based in Hayes Valley, San Francisco, is seeking a Talent Lead to build and develop a recruiting team while delivering top hires. You’ll partner with hiring managers and own a portfolio of technical and non-technical roles from kickoff through close.

This hands-on management role requires coaching a team, refining processes, and using analytics and AI-enabled tools to scale hiring across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of talent acquisition experience in a startup or fast-paced technology organization.
• 3+ years leading recruiting teams in a high-growth technical environment, including multiple performance cycles.
• Proven success attracting and closing both technical and non-technical talent with evidence of hire quality and retention.
• Managed a significant requisition load—60%+ of time recruiting—in recent roles.
• Shaped search strategies collaboratively using analytics and recruiting technology, including AI.
• Able to operate autonomously, balance priorities, and clarify ambiguous hiring needs.

Responsibilities

• Own searches and deliver exceptional hires across technical and non-technical functions.
• Build strong partnerships with hiring managers on candidate profiles, criteria, sourcing, and closing strategies.
• Hire, coach, and develop recruiters, rec ops, and sourcers with clear expectations and regular feedback.
• Scale recruiting processes and implement technology, including AI, to improve velocity and outcomes.
