LHH in Houston, TX is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist / Recruiter on a contract basis to manage full-cycle recruitment for diverse client needs.

You will partner with hiring managers, build talent pipelines, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and support onboarding while delivering a positive candidate experience in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an hourly rate and potential for extension, with emphasis on relationship-building and strategic recruiting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent professional recruiting experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for various positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and priorities.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate interviews, feedback, and hiring decisions.
  • Source candidates via job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, networking, and other channels.
  • Conduct phone screens and initial assessments; evaluate qualifications and cultural fit.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of qualified talent for current and future openings.
  • Serve as a trusted recruiting partner to hiring managers; guide on market trends and best practices.
  • Deliver a positive candidate experience and timely updates throughout the process.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records in the ATS; track metrics and reporting.

LHH is proactively seeking a driven, relationship-focused, and results-oriented Talent Acquisition Specialist / Recruiter to support one of our clients on a contract basis in the Houston area. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process, partnering with hiring managers, and identifying top talent to meet organizational hiring goals.

Location: Houston area, Texas

Job Type: Contract

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $28.00 – $40.00/hr (DOE)

Role Summary

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist / Recruiter, you will manage recruiting efforts from sourcing and screening candidates through offer negotiation and onboarding support. You will collaborate closely with hiring managers and HR teams to develop hiring strategies, build talent pipelines, and ensure a positive candidate experience. Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Recruitment
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for a variety of positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and hiring priorities.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate interviews, feedback, and hiring decisions.
Candidate Sourcing & Screening
  • Source candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, networking, and other recruiting channels.
  • Conduct phone screens and initial candidate assessments.
  • Evaluate candidate qualifications, skills, and cultural fit.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of qualified talent for current and future openings.
Hiring Manager Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted recruiting partner to hiring managers.
  • Provide guidance on market trends, candidate availability, and hiring best practices.
  • Facilitate interview preparation and selection processes.
  • Ensure alignment between hiring requirements and recruitment strategies.
Candidate Experience
  • Deliver a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
  • Communicate timely updates regarding application status and next steps.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate logistics.
  • Support offer presentation and onboarding activities.
Recruitment Operations & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate candidate records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Track recruiting metrics, pipeline activity, and hiring progress.
  • Generate recruitment reports and provide updates to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
Employer Branding & Talent Pipeline Development
  • Support recruiting initiatives that strengthen employer branding.
  • Participate in career fairs, networking events, and community outreach efforts.
  • Build relationships with passive candidates and industry professionals.
  • Develop talent pools for recurring and hard-to-fill positions.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent professional recruiting experience will be considered.
Experience
  • 2–5+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition, staffing, or human resources experience.
  • Experience managing full-cycle recruitment processes.
  • Agency staffing or corporate recruiting experience preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruiting platforms.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, CareerBuilder, and other sourcing tools preferred.
  • Experience generating recruiting reports and tracking recruitment metrics.
