Job summary

Reading Truck, a J.B. Poindexter & Co. company, is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to develop and implement recruiting strategies to support production and maintenance staffing.

This role oversees source-to-seat processes for hourly positions and partners with managers to craft precise job descriptions. You will screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, coordinate on-site interviews, and manage offers, pre-employment screening, and reference checks.

Qualifications

• Three to six years of HR recruiting experience
• Manufacturing industry background preferred
• High School diploma or GED; AS/BS degree preferred
• Experience with sourcing and community outreach

Responsibilities

• Facilitate full-cycle recruitment: sourcing, interviewing, offers, and pre-employment screening
• Develop recruiting communications and establish relationships with vocational programs
• Collaborate with managers to draft job descriptions and hiring criteria
• Review resumes and conduct phone interviews; schedule on-site interviews
• Provide interview summaries and recommendations to hiring managers
• Coordinate offers, salary ranges, and start dates
• Perform reference checks and prepare offer letters
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies
• Engage with community high schools, vocational schools, and job fairs
• Maintain HRIS records and generate reports
• Perform other related duties as required

Job description

How You Will Make an Impact

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will focus on developing and implementing recruiting strategies and plans to support the company staffing needs. This position will oversee “source to seat” recruitment for primarily Production & Maintenance (P&M) Hourly positions.

The Nuts and Bolts

• Facilitate full-cycle recruitment process, including researching best talent sources & candidate pools, sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, offer letters, and pre-employment screening
• Develop recruiting communications for community outreach, and establishing relationships with vocational and trade
• Collaborate with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria
• Review & screen resumes
• Conduct preliminary phone interviews with candidates and schedule on-site interviews as needed, schedule travel arrangements when necessary
• Provide phone screen summary and recommendations to hiring manager for interviews and hiring decisions
• Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details
• Conduct reference checks and prepare offer letters for candidates
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies concerning the interview process
• Attend and participate in community high school, vocational and trade school job fairs
• Maintain human resource information system records and compile reports from the database
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Required Credentials

Education:

• High School diploma or GED; A.S. or B.S. Degree preferred

Experience

• Three (3) to six (6) years of HR Recruiting experience
• Manufacturing industry background preferred
