Job summary

Jewish Senior Life (JSL) is seeking an experienced Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist to support timely hiring for our senior living communities. You will partner with hiring managers, manage job postings, screens, interviews, and ensure smooth onboarding.

This role focuses on pre-employment requirements, orientation, and accurate documentation, while tracking recruiting metrics and maintaining a positive candidate experience across multiple campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Minimum of two years of human resources, recruiting, or talent acquisition experience preferred.
• Experience with Paycom or a comparable HRIS/applicant tracking system preferred.
• Working knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and pre-employment screening practices.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manages recruitment activities for assigned positions, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and communication with candidates and hiring managers.
• Partners with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, support effective candidate selection, and maintain timely movement throughout the hiring process.
• Coordinates pre-employment and onboarding requirements, including required screenings, background checks, verifications, fingerprints, health-related clearances, and other applicable documentation.
• Maintains consistent communication with candidates and new hires from offer acceptance through completion of onboarding and orientation.
• Ensures new-hire records, forms, system entries, and required documentation are complete, accurate, timely, and maintained appropriately.
• Plans and facilitates new employee orientation and monitors completion of required onboarding activities.
• Represents JSL professionally with candidates and community partners and supports recruitment events, career fairs, and other talent outreach activities.
• Partners with the Human Resources team on department initiatives, employee engagement activities, and special projects as needed.
