Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti North America Inc. offers a 12-week, project-based internship where you own a core technical project from start to finish, delivering a final report and presentation to technical leadership.

You will clean, analyze, and model datasets related to mining, mobile fleet, and process plant metrics, validating data with stakeholders and setting data-driven targets for site-wide support.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a rising senior in an Undergraduate program or final-year Master’s student pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a closely related field.
• Foundational knowledge of the Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management (GISTM) and TSF operational best practices.
• Familiarity with the basic principles of Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) design and construction.
• Academic or practical understanding of soil mechanics and how to assess structural stability.
• Strong commitment to strict safety standards, TSF governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent technical writing, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to analyze datasets, draw logical conclusions, and present findings clearly.
• Collaborative mindset with a strong eagerness to learn and proactively ask questions.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a dedicated 12-week project, managing timelines, and delivering a final technical report and presentation.
• Clean, analyze, and model complex datasets related to mining, mobile fleet, and/or process plant metrics across gold mines.
• Engage stakeholders to validate data and models.
• Set data-driven performance targets and garner mine-site support.
• Guide mine-site personnel through project ideation and planning process to close gap to targets.
