Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti North America invites talented students to a 12-week, project-based internship. You will own a core technical project from start to finish and present results to technical leadership.

Work will involve cleaning and analyzing mining data, engaging stakeholders, and helping set data-driven targets. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and an opportunity to travel to project sites as needed. Denver, CO on-site with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Civil Eng or Environmental Sciences, rising senior or final-year Master.
• Knowledge of GISTM and TSF best practices.
• Understanding of TSF design and construction principles.
• Academic or practical understanding of soil mechanics and how to assess structural stability.
• Strong safety standards, TSF governance and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent technical writing, reporting and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a dedicated 12-week project, managing timelines, and delivering a final technical report and presentation.
• Clean, analyze, and model complex datasets related to mining, mobile fleet, and/or process plant metrics across gold mines
• Engage stakeholders to validate data and models.
• Set data-driven performance targets and garner mine-site support.
• Guide mine-site personnel through project ideation and planning process to close gap to targets.
