Job summary

High Country Line Construction, Inc., a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc., is seeking an T&D Estimator I to prepare cost estimates for transmission, distribution, and substation projects. You will develop complex estimates, reference bidding history, and project man-hours to ensure competitive bids.

The role involves field walks, pre-bid meetings, and occasional travel to determine constructability and provide accurate estimates to meet deadlines and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of estimating experience or relevant construction experience.
• Proficient in analyzing construction and electrical drawings to accurately formulate an estimate.
• Knowledgeable of electrical materials and methods of installation.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills, including verbal and written.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities as necessary.
• Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.

Responsibilities

• Complete cost estimates for assigned projects, with definable work tasks for transmission, distribution and substation projects.
• Develop complex estimates with minor errors/omissions.
• Utilize previous work/bidding history to establish production assumptions.
• Track and compare project histories to produce up to date man hours and cost.
• Plan and execute work while meeting customer defined submission deadlines.
• Schedule and attend field job walk with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel to determine constructability requirements.
• Attend on site pre-bid meetings and perform job site visits.
