Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Project Manager to join our Transmission & Distribution practice in the Midwest. The role focuses on leading distribution engineering projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget, and developing strong client relationships across owners, regulators, and subcontractors. Office locations include St.

Louis, MO or Columbus, OH, with travel to client sites. You will prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, oversee QA/QC, and mentor the Distribution team as part of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 7 years of related experience, with 3+ years of experience managing engineering projects in the utility industry preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to apply knowledge to broad areas of assignments.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall management of projects from concept to completion.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control project costs.
• Own client relationships and serve as primary point of contact.
• Prepare proposals, assist in presentations, and participate in contract negotiations.
• Develop and implement project controls and execution plans.
• Work with the project team to ensure QA/QC guidelines are followed.
• Travel to client and project locations as needed.
