Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Transmission & Distribution practice across the southeastern United States, including offices in Atlanta, Charlotte, Chattanooga and Nashville. The role involves coordinating with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders on projects of varying complexity.

The successful candidate will assist with planning, estimation, scheduling, cost control and reporting, and may be assigned field work 30% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management or related field and 5 years of experience.
• PMP or similar certification preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Management Teams plan, execute and monitor projects through all stages.
• Manage contractors' submittals, RFIs, and field design directives.
• Verify contractor compliance for quality, safety and environmental programs.
• Execute contracts including change orders, invoices and schedule management.
• Assist with project controls, cost reporting, scheduling, and WBS setup.
• Develop internal and external reports on budget, cash flow and status.
