Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks a Project Manager to lead distribution engineering projects in the Midwest, directing all phases from concept through closeout while ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and strong client relations.

The role demands a Bachelor’s in engineering or related field, 7+ years’ experience (3+ in utilities), and PE/PMP credentials. Travel to client sites and cross-functional leadership are essential components of this position.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related experience; 3+ years managing engineering projects in the utility industry preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related field required; PE and/or PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall management of projects from concept to completion, including routing, environmental permitting, planning, estimating, engineering, and closeout.
• Develop and manage project schedules, scope, and costs; own internal project financials and risk management.
• Serve as primary client contact; cultivate repeat business and expand service offerings.
• Prepare proposals, participate in presentations, and engage in contract negotiations.
