Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Project Manager for our Transmission & Distribution practice to lead greenfield and brownfield substation, transmission, and pipeline projects. The role focuses on client development and successful delivery in the US market, with reporting to the T&D Projects Manager and responsibility for project P&L.

You will drive schedules, budgets, QA/QC, and stakeholder communications, while coordinating environmental permits, right-of-way, and constructability reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited curriculum.
• PE registration preferred; PMP certification preferred.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to travel and manage multiple stakeholders across projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals, assist in presentations, and participate in contract negotiations.
• Provide overall management of projects from concept to completion, including siting, environmental, permitting, planning, estimating, engineering, and closeout.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control project costs.
• Assist with internal project financials, staffing, risk management, and human resource issues.
• Serve as primary point of contact with clients regarding coordination, budgeting, subcontracting, and schedule attainment.
• Develop and implement project policies and procedures, establish project controls, and execute the project plan.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure deliverables meet client expectations and QA/QC guidelines.
• Report progress, cost, schedule metrics, procurement issues, safety or environmental concerns.
