Selby Jennings is seeking a Systems Support Engineer to maintain and improve the Linux-based development and testing environments powering our electronic trading platforms.

You will partner with engineering, QA, and operations to ensure high availability, build monitoring and automation, and rapidly respond to incidents.

The role is hybrid, based in Chicago, with onsite work three days a week, and requires hands-on scripting and tooling experience.

Formación

• 2+ years Linux systems/infrastructure experience.
• Strong networking fundamentals.
• Experience with distributed, high-availability systems.
• Scripting or programming experience with Python, Bash, Go, or Java.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or messaging technologies.
• Experience with monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development and automation tools.

Responsabilidades

• Support Linux-based development and UAT environments used by trading technology teams.
• Improve consistency and reliability across testing and production environments.
• Build monitoring, alerting, and automation to identify issues quickly.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and prevent recurring problems.
• Automate operational workflows using Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages.
• Partner with developers, QA, release engineering, and production teams.
• Help maintain stable environments in a fast-moving, high-availability trading organization.
