Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Systems Security Engineer to strengthen and secure DoD mission-support environments in Binghamton, NY. The role emphasizes RMF compliance, secure architecture, and hands-on Windows/Linux administration.

The candidate will design, secure, and optimize infrastructure to ensure regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and performance in a high-security setting. Onsite work in Binghamton with a transferable SECRET clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 5 years of experience or an advanced degree with 3 years of experience
• Active and transferable Secret security clearance prior to start date
• RMF experience applicable to DoD RMF
• Linux or Windows system administration experience
• Experience with AD, VMware, SIEM tools, backup/recovery software, and Tenable/related security tools

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain secure DoD RMF compliant system architectures
• Engineer and harden enterprise network and system solutions for security, resilience, and performance
• Configure and secure Windows and Linux environments using baseline configurations
• Create and manage IaC artifacts (Ansible, VMware templates) for auditable provisioning
• Design Ansible automation workflows to enforce configuration compliance and patch management
• Support RMF accreditation activities with Government ISSM, including documentation and monitoring
• Install and troubleshoot enterprise firewalls, routers, and switches for secure segmentation
• Conduct vulnerability analysis and security validation to ensure compliant systems
