Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of relevant experience (Level 2) or Master's with related experience.
• Level 3 requires 5+ years of relevant military/professional experience or a Master's with 3+ years or PhD with 1+ year.
• Active US Government Secret clearance (or higher) is required for Engineers at either level.

Responsibilities

• Perform system safety engineering across the lifecycle including hazard identification, analysis, tracking, and mitigation.
• Develop and maintain safety requirements and ensure proper allocation, implementation, and verification.
• Conduct PHA, FHA, SSA, FMEA/FMECA, and FTA analyses as applicable.
• Plan and execute safety validation activities with acceptance criteria and supporting data.
• Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and test teams to embed safety into design decisions.
• Prepare safety documentation and artifacts (hazard logs, safety cases) for reviews and deliverables.
• Present safety findings and recommendations to program and customer stakeholders.
