Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Modeling and Simulation Engineer (level 2) or Principal Engineer (level 3) to analyze inventory effectiveness, configurations, and probabilistic models. This full‑time office role can be based in San Diego or Palmdale, CA, with up to 25% travel and a Secret clearance requirement.

Candidates should have STEM degrees and strong Excel, data analysis, and modeling skills, plus experience in defense programs and project communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2 years of analytics or system modeling experience.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, charts, macros).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance, SAP, and SCI.
• Willing and able to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms.
• Simulate real-time operation and model projected behavior of systems.
• Develop and integrate graphical user interfaces and visualization tools.
• Model operational environments and perform trade studies via computer simulation.
• Perform operational and mission effectiveness analyses.
• Develop concept development, LORA, ROI analyses, and model-based system engineering.
