Job summary

Chenega MIOS is hiring a Systems Engineer in Tysons Corner, VA to provide on-site, 24/7/365 Tier 1 operations for Google Public Sector’s sovereign and classified cloud environments. You will monitor Linux/Kubernetes, runbooks, and coordinate with Customer Support and engineering teams to ensure service integrity.

Applicants should have 3+ years in Linux/SRE/Kubernetes, strong scripting, and an active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Linux systems administration, cloud operations, SRE, or Kubernetes administration.
• Proficient in Linux command line and Kubernetes (kubectl) troubleshooting.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Grafana/Prometheus) and ticketing (ServiceNow).
• Scripting in Bash or Python and updating runbooks and docs in Markdown.

Responsibilities

• Analyze GDC Air‑Gapped infrastructure, performance, and system conditions across Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
• Perform start-of-shift health checks and execute mitigation runbooks to maintain availability.
• Investigate complex customer issues; provide diagnostic evidence and coordinate with engineering teams.
• Verify network connectivity and provide on-site technical support to Google teams.
• Maintain shift continuity, meet service targets, and ensure proper handoffs.
