Job summary

Chenega MIOS SBU is seeking a Senior Operations Lead to provide on-site leadership for Google Public Sector sovereign and classified cloud operations from the Tysons Corner facility. You will guide a team of Customer Support Specialists and Systems Engineers, pre-screening consultations, overseeing queue health, and coordinating with Google engineering and PMO teams.

You must bring 5+ years in Linux/SRE/cloud ops, plus a TS clearance and DoD 8140/IAT II certification.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in Linux systems administration, cloud operations, SRE, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools such as Grafana and Prometheus and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
• Scripting ability in Bash or Python and proficiency updating technical documentation and runbooks in Markdown.
• Active DoD 8140/IAT Level II qualifying certification.
• Google onboarding and government-contract compliance including security training and background checks.
• Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site floor operations for USG2 and provide technical guidance to support staff.
• Pre-screen engineering consults, review off-hours engagements, and ensure queue health and runbook accuracy.
• Coordinate documentation updates, runbooks, alerts, and handoffs with Google engineering, PMO, and TAM teams.
• Track alerts, performance metrics, and ensure timely responses to urgent inquiries during 24/7 operations.
• Maintain COOP readiness, conduct weekly reporting on service compliance, and support accreditation activities.
• Lead adoption of new sovereign or classified products into health checks and reporting.
