Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in the United States seeks a Systems Engineer to define and verify system behavior for the ARIES program, collaborating with architects, software, electrical and robotics engineers, and external partners to translate concepts into clear specifications and interface descriptions.

You will develop state machines, verification tests, and execute them in simulation and hardware-in-the-loop, ensuring safety-critical performance and compliance across interfaces and workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience in systems engineering for complex technical systems, preferably robotics/medical tech
• Experience creating system specifications, interface descriptions, requirements and verification artifacts
• Experience defining system behavior across interfaces including command flows, status reporting, and fault handling
• Practical experience with state machines, workflow logic and behavior modeling for interconnected hardware and software
• Experience developing and executing test cases in simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, or real hardware setups

Responsibilities

• Translate system architecture into clear requirements, specifications, and engineering documentation
• Define and maintain interface specifications describing data exchange, commands, status, and error handling
• Specify system behavior under nominal and fault conditions and safe-state transitions
• Define and document system state machines with allowed states, transitions, and triggers
• Create and maintain verification test cases demonstrating system behavior and interfaces
• Implement and execute tests in simulation and real hardware environments to verify compliance
• Coordinate interface specifications with external partners to ensure compatibility
