Job summary

Siemens Healthineers AG is seeking a Robotics Engineer to design, implement, and verify control, safety, sensing, and interfaces for the ARIES program in a real-time medical robotics environment.

You will work on trajectory generation, force-based control, safety filtering, and hardware/software integration, with emphasis on deterministic and auditable behavior across simulation and real hardware.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant technical field.
• Strong background in real-time trajectory generation and motion planning.
• Hands-on experience with real-time control in robotics or cyber-physical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate robotic control logic for real-time actuation and hardware/software integration.
• Develop real-time trajectory generation methods including spline interpolation and motion profiles.
• Design and tune admittance/impedance control strategies for force-based safety filtering.
• Use estimator outputs and signal-quality data to detect unsafe robot behavior.
• Expose hardware signals, device states, sensor status, and diagnostics via clear interfaces.
• Validate robotic functions in simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, bench tests, and real hardware.
• Document assumptions, interfaces, safety limits, and validation evidence clearly.
