Siemens Healthineers is seeking a Robotics Engineer for the ARIES program to design, implement, and verify robotic control, safety, sensing, and interfaces in a real-time medical robotics environment.

The role emphasizes deterministic, explainable behavior, hardware/software integration, and validation through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and bench experiments with comprehensive documentation of safety limits and interfaces.

Qualifications

• Experience developing control algorithms for robotic or CPS.
• Strong background in real-time trajectory generation and planning.
• Experience with admittance/impedance control and force-based safety.
• Ability to work with estimator outputs and uncertainty indicators.
• Hands-on experience in real-time embedded robotics development.
• Experience validating robotic behavior via simulation and HIL.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate robotic control logic for real-time actuation.
• Develop real-time trajectory generation methods and motion profiles.
• Tune admittance/impedance control for force-based commands.
• Use signals and diagnostics to detect unsafe or degraded robot behavior.
• Expose hardware signals and diagnostics through reusable interfaces.
• Validate functions in simulation, HIL, bench experiments, and real hardware.
