Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced MFT Systems Administrator to manage Axway SecureTransport and IBM Connect:Direct environments. You will configure secure protocols, manage keys and certificates, onboard partners, and design automated workflows to improve monitoring and onboarding efficiency.

Responsibilities include migrating legacy platforms, monitoring performance and security events, and collaborating with Security to meet PCI DSS, SOC II, and ISO27001 standards. On-call may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT field
5+ years of systems administration/infrastructure engineering experience
3+ years supporting enterprise MFT platforms or related tech
Experience with Axway SecureTransport or IBM Connect:Direct preferred
Experience in PCI-regulated or other highly regulated environments preferred

Responsibilities

Administer, configure, maintain, and optimize Axway SecureTransport environments
Support IBM Connect:Direct infrastructure and secure file transfer services
Configure and maintain SFTP, FTPS, SCP, SSH and related protocols
Manage SSH keys, PGP encryption, certificates, and secure authentication
Onboard internal and external MFT partners
Design and maintain secure file transfer workflows
Develop scripts and automation to monitor file transfers and onboarding
Migrate legacy MFT platforms to modern solutions
Monitor performance, availability, capacity, and security events
Troubleshoot end-to-end file transfer issues with customers and apps
Coordinate onboarding with customers, vendors, and internal owners
Maintain technical docs, standards, procedures
Administer Active Directory service accounts and permissions
Support VMware VMs hosting MFT services
Troubleshoot networking issues (DNS, firewall, VPN)
Assist with backup and disaster recovery testing
Participate in maintenance windows and infrastructure changes
Execute MFT implementation and migration projects
Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis
Drive automation of operational processes
Collaborate with Security to meet standards (PCI DSS, SOC II, ISO27001)
Maintain knowledge articles and runbooks
Participate in on-call support when required

• Administer, configure, maintain, and optimize Axway SecureTransport environments
• Support IBM Connect:Direct infrastructure and secure file transfer services
• Configure and maintain SFTP, FTPS, SCP, SSH and related protocols
• Manage SSH keys, PGP encryption, certificates, and secure authentication mechanisms
• Onboard internal and external MFT partners
• Design, implement, and maintain secure file transfer workflows
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation solutions to improve file transfer monitoring, onboarding processes, reporting, and operational efficiency
• Migrate legacy MFT platforms and customer integrations to modern enterprise solutions
• Monitor platform performance, availability, capacity trends, and security events, proactively identifying risks and implementing improvements
• Troubleshoot complex end-to-end file transfer issues involving customers, applications, and infrastructure
• Coordinate onboarding activities with customers, vendors, and internal application owners
• Maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures
• Administer Active Directory service accounts and permissions related to MFT
• Support VMware virtual machines hosting MFT services
• Work with networking teams to troubleshoot routing, DNS, firewall, VPN, and connectivity issues
• Assist with backup and disaster recovery testing
• Participate in maintenance windows and infrastructure changes

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or enterprise application support experience
3+ years of experience supporting enterprise managed file transfer (MFT) platforms, secure data solutions, or related integration technologies
Experience with Axway SecureTransport, IBM Connect:Direct, or comparable enterprise MFT solutions is strongly preferred
Experience in PCI-regulated, financial services, payment, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments strongly preferred
