Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S in Engineering or Sciences.
• Experience in development of Lab or Industrial Automation equipment and instrumentation.
• Minimum of two years relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience within vitro diagnostic support/development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with practical methods.
• Contributes to program and project completion, including product conceptualization and development plans.
• Manages product requirements and high-level design specifications under supervision.
• Collaborates with assay development and engineering; may guide junior developers.
• Evaluates problems independently; designs and conducts development activities with minimal supervision.
• Develops subsystem workflow logic for instrument functions and operation theory.
• Analyzes automated systems including timing, control systems, and critical parameters.
• Collects, analyzes, interprets, reports, and presents results to cross-functional teams.
• Automates data processing using Python.
• Applies DFSS and risk management practices to improve product robustness.
• Supports system verification, validation, and regulatory submission activities.
• Facilitates transition from R&D to manufacturing/service and troubleshooting in the field.
• Coordinates with R&D and Quality/Reliability/Service to support quality procedures.
