Job summary

BD is seeking a System Support Engineer to join the Water Technical Service and Support Organization. The SSE will provide high-level technical advice, consultation, and troubleshooting for internal and external customers, focusing on diagnostic automated Kiestra equipment.

The role requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, plus a willingness to work rotating on-call coverage after hours and on weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Computers Engineering or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of electronics and electro-mechanical devices, PLCs and pneumatics.
• Knowledge of PC/software/LIS/networking/database management desirable.
• Experience troubleshooting customer workflow or instrument complaints.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt responses to inquiries from customers via telephone and written communication.
• Provide remote diagnostics for laboratory track systems and instrumentation.
• Generate and maintain complaint documentation per FDA (21 CFR) and ISO requirements.
• Coordinate with Quality Control, Quality Assurance, R&D, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Field personnel for timely follow-up.
• Supports the 24/7 Technical Service telephone line with on-call coverage during evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Promotes privacy and security related to PHI and HIPPA.
• Contributes to team goals and improves processes.
• Promotes Professional Services.
• Troubleshoots hardware and software issues and upgrades systems.
