Job Overview

The Systems Design Engineer performs engineering support activities for integrated systems of Conair auxiliary equipment products. This position reports to the Project Engineering Manager and is in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize CAD systems to generate 2-D and 3-D drawings to convey desired configurations of equipment and interconnecting piping.
  • Conceptualize equipment placement and orientation, as well as piping runs, wiring runs to generate CAD drawings to convey configurations for installation in our customer’s facilities.
  • Periodic travel to customer job sites, both pre and post order, to obtain critical information to properly bid/install engineered systems.
  • Helps or assists in specifying outside purchased equipment/components regarding mechanical applications for systems, such as special tubing packages, silos, and special cyclone packages.
  • Generate silo orientation drawings and communicate technically with storage vendors.
  • Assist Project Managers with project documentation utilizing rev control through final signoff.
  • Assist Project Managers in providing information needed to provide successful systems installations, including reviewing systems orders to verify proper systems integration.
  • Generate bill-of-material and similar documentation for plastics auxiliaries’ systems.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic and embrace a team centric environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering (or related field).
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Able to address customers in discussing project planning and progress. Engages in dialog with internal staff to ensure proper information is provided and communicated on systems orders.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to analyze complex piping and equipment layouts.
  • 2D and 3D CAD proficiency; preferably in AutoCAD.
  • Must be able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Must be adaptable and able to effectively manage workload in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of Conair or other plastics auxiliary equipment is a plus.
