Opportunity Overview:

We are looking to hire an engineering contractor in Warrendale, PA to support the design and implementation of safety-related Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems. The individual will support functional and system design and analysis, including performing mean time between failure (MTBF) calculations, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), reliability block diagram (RBD) modeling, and writing reports associated with these tasks for various nuclear control systems and components. The candidate will work closely with subject matter experts in different nuclear subsystems to ensure successful task completion. This role offers a flexible schedule with some on-site requirements as needed.

What your day-to-day looks like:

• Development of Functional Logic Diagrams
• Development of Design Specifications
• Using electronic component's bill of materials to calculate predicted MTBF with Reliability Workbench software
• Analyzing field data to determine observed MTBF
• Collaborating with subject matter experts to perform FMEA for components, systems, or processes
• Constructing system block diagrams in Reliability Workbench to assess compliance with customer requirements
• Evaluating the impact of design changes on project scope and cost
• Supporting project management in schedule creation
• Preparing clear and concise reports of tasks for internal and external stakeholders

US Citizenship is required for this role.

Education:

• BS in Electrical Engineering or a directly related discipline (e.g., General Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering)

Experience/Requirements:

• Strong technical interest and willingness to learn
• Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Proficiency in applying mathematical, statistical, and engineering principles
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal) with stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
