Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a System Architect – Associate Member of Technical Staff to join the Architecture Concepts Department. This in-person role requires four onsite days per week in Chantilly, VA or El Segundo, CA, with occasional travel.

You will participate in architecture studies, apply disciplined architecting methods, and work with program offices, customers, and contractors to deliver analyses and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering, science, or related technical field (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)
• 0–1 year of industry experience
• Prior internship with The Aerospace Corporation
• Experience in system or enterprise architecting, systems engineering, concept design, and/or model-based systems engineering
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and ability to work with diverse collaborators
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for briefings, reports, and informal communications
• Ability to learn new skills through self-study and mentorship
• Willing and able to travel 5–10% domestically and internationally
• Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required
• Transcripts required for this position

Responsibilities

• Participate in architecture studies of varying complexity with multi-disciplinary teams
• Learn and apply disciplined system architecting methods, processes, and tools
• Use and integrate analytical methods to evaluate concepts for cost, schedule, performance, risk, and resilience
• Collaborate with Aerospace program office, customers, and contractors to elicit needs, plan studies, and communicate results
