Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA is seeking a System Architect – Associate Member of Technical Staff to lead architecture studies, apply model-based systems engineering, and advise program offices and customers on cost, schedule, performance, and risk.

The role requires a BS in engineering or related field, 0-1 year of industry experience, internship, experience with SysML/UAF/UPDM, cross-functional leadership, TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship; travel up to 5-10%; onsite with 4 days

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering, science, or related technical field (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months).
• 0-1 year of industry experience and prior internship with The Aerospace Corporation.
• Experience/coursework in system or enterprise architecting, systems engineering, concept design, and/or model-based systems engineering.
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and ability to work with diverse collaborators.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presenting methods and results in briefings and reports.
• Ability to learn new skills through self-study and mentorship.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally ~5-10%.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Transcripts required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Participate in architecture studies of varying system complexity, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Learn and apply disciplined system architecting methods, processes, and tools.
• Use and integrate analytical methods to evaluate concepts for cost, schedule, performance, risk, and resilience.
• Collaborate with program offices, customers, and contractors to elicit needs and communicate status and recommendations in reports.
