Job summary

Booth & Associates in Baton Rouge, LA seeks an experienced Systems Administrator to support Microsoft 365, Windows Server, virtualization, networking, and endpoint computing across multiple offices.

You will be the primary IT resource for an assigned office and collaborate with the corporate IT team on automation, incident resolution, and infrastructure improvements.

This role requires hands-on troubleshooting, proactive problem solving, and occasional travel to other offices.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in IT.
• 3+ years in technical support, systems administration, or related IT role.
• Experience with Windows 10/11, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware or Proxmox).
• Mid-level PowerShell experience for scripting.
• Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, and end-user devices.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate status.
• Strong customer service and written/verbal communication.
• Self-starter able to work remotely with others across locations.
• Willingness to travel for after-hours maintenance and other offices.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID, and Intune.
• Manage Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
• Support virtualization platforms (VMware and Proxmox) and backups.
• Create, maintain, and document PowerShell scripts for automation and management.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support diagnosing complex Windows, network, and application issues.
• Provision and deploy workstations, user accounts, and devices.
• Maintain IT inventory and lifecycle management for equipment.
• Serve as primary onsite IT contact for assigned office including switching, routing, Wi-Fi, and conferencing.
• Assist with server upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery planning.
• Create SOPs and technical documentation; train employees.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, and efficiency via automation.
• Travel occasionally to other offices for onsite support.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical staff.
