Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Systems Administrator to support Linux (RHEL) and Windows environments, including virtualization and cloud services. You will maintain patches, perform backups, manage configurations, and ensure cybersecurity compliance.

The role requires strong communication, independent work, and collaboration with IT teams. You'll participate in change control, incident response, and documentation efforts while supporting on‑site infrastructure in a dynamic enterprise setting.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and Public Trust clearance required.
• 2–4 years as a Systems Administrator in Linux (RHEL) and Windows.
• Experience across multi‑platform environments with SOPs/guidance.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and judgment.
• Familiarity with ITSM such as ServiceNow and patch lifecycle.
• Scripting: Bash, Python, PowerShell, or Ansible.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware), cloud services (AWS/Azure).
• Ability to work independently and document procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support operating systems, VMs, storage appliances, and backups.
• Troubleshoot issues and assist with change management activities.
• Apply patches and perform routine system maintenance.
• Participate in backup/restoration activities and health checks.
• Provide end‑user and system support during core hours with on‑call.
• Use monitoring tools to maintain performance and identify issues.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams for compliance and security.
• Follow change management for hardware/software updates.
• Troubleshoot hardware and coordinate repairs with vendors.
• Evaluate server hardware/software needs and assist deployments.
• Apply system hardening guidelines and assist incident response.
• Maintain inventory and document configurations and procedures.
• Manage tasks/tickets for incidents, changes, service requests.
• Assist escalated end‑user support.
