Our team in Linthicum, MD, is looking for a Linux/Windows Systems Administrator to support classified government projects. This is an on-site position, not remote.
- Perform as a Linux/Redhat systems administrator for classified government contracts.
- Perform as a Windows Systems Administrator for classified government contracts.
- Maintain smooth operation of all computer infrastructure in a multi-user environment, coordinating with various engineers, security officers, technicians, and management.
- Analyze customer requirements and determine equipment and software needs.
- Recommend and implement system enhancements for performance and reliability.
- Provide backup, recovery, data storage management, and malware protection.
- Create and maintain user and computer accounts, modify permissions, and security access.
- Test new product releases for compatibility and minimal user impact.
- Develop and document technical processes and procedures.
- Make hardware and software purchase recommendations.
- Interact with vendors for troubleshooting and evaluation.
- Adhere to security guidelines, deploy STIGs, and develop POA&Ms for vulnerabilities.
- Understand vulnerability mitigation per RMF & DoD JSIG standards.
- Maintain security logs and prepare security documentation.
- Report project status as required.
- Work independently to develop solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience, or Associate's with 4 years, or High School diploma with 6 years of experience.
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
- Experience managing Redhat Enterprise Linux OS in a classified environment.
- Experience managing Windows Server OS and domain architecture in a classified environment.
- Familiarity with DoD STIGs and vulnerability mitigation.
- Current DoD Secret security clearance or enrolled in CE Program, maintained throughout employment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Programs within 9 months.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's in IT with 2+ years Linux, Windows, and VMWare server administration in JSIG classified environment.
- Experience with NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, JSIG environments.
- Experience installing, configuring, maintaining hardware, networking knowledge, Cisco certification, Windows AD, LDAP, SAN, Solaris OS, scripting, and system imaging.
- Experience with Certification & Accreditation, DoD 8570 Certification, and active Top Secret clearance.
