Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a skilled MS Systems Administrator in Chantilly, VA to support DoW healthcare infrastructure. You will manage Active Directory, GPOs, SCCM, VMware, and patch cycles, while coordinating with DoW security teams.

The role requires Security+ and ability to obtain a Secret clearance, with strong communication and teamwork in a hierarchical, process-driven environment. You will engage with DoW facility users, support DoW customers, and contribute to modernization efforts.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering solutions and provide hands-on customer support.

• Share knowledge through training and mentorship of team members.
• Manage accounts and group policies using Active Directory.
• Analyze GPOs and DoW STIGs with Cyber Security staff.
• Use VMware/vSphere virtualization and diagnose system issues.

Job description

• Support engineering solutions and provide hands-on customer support
• Engage face-to-face and virtually with end users to solve technical challenges
• Coordinate with DHA system administrator personnel to ensure remotely provided services, including SCCM and Active Directory, are properly configured and deployed
• Support Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) in infrastructure modernization and automation
• Serve as a stakeholder for hosting test events at a government medical testing lab
• Verify patches, upgrades, and modifications of Microsoft Windows and Linux systems
• Establish and maintain procedural documentation and knowledge-base articles
• Share knowledge through training and mentorship of team members
• Support customer tickets in a lab environment
• Manage accounts and group policies using Microsoft Active Directory
• Analyze Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and settings
• Analyze ACAS scan results and interpret DoW STIGs with Cyber Security staff
• Manage and mitigate system security risks
• Use VMware/vSphere virtualization
• Provide general technical support for hardware and software
• Work with a team of driven, supportive, and highly skilled professionals

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 3 months
• Familiarity with Cisco Systems, including switches and routers
• 2-4 years of experience in MS systems administration and working on complex systems, software programs, and networks
• Experience leading or supporting Analysis of Alternative (AoA) exercises
• Experience working within a disciplined, process-based SDLC
• Experience in the DoW healthcare sector
• vCenter experience
• Excellent communication skills, including interacting with DoW customers, facility users, and facility support contractors
• Ability to prioritize and manage tasks to accomplish goals on a given timeline
• Ability to interpret, communicate, and apply operational and security procedures and propose improvements
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with a team-oriented mindset and a high degree of integrity
• Experience with Jira/Confluence
