Job summary

Jobtailor Beavercreek, OH is seeking a seasoned Windows/Linux Systems Administrator with TS clearance to manage classified VDI, AWS, and Kubernetes environments. You will automate provisioning, harden systems, and maintain documentation while collaborating with an IT/security team.

After-hours support may be required. Ideal candidates have Security+/IAT II, 3+ years of admin experience, and hands-on AWS, Docker, and Terraform expertise in a DoD context.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of Windows and Linux Systems Administrator experience.
• DoD IAT Level II Certification (Security+).
• Top Secret clearance with in-scope background investigation.
• Experience administering Windows Server and RHEL in AWS.
• Experience with system hardening, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and configuration management.
• Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and document configurations and procedures.
• Proficient with AWS services (EC2, WorkSpaces, SSM).
• Hands-on with Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Git/GitLab.

Responsibilities

• Provide design, maintenance, and enhancement support for classified virtual infrastructure.
• Ensure 24/7 continuity of operations and compliance with information assurance.
• Create and update system documents and baselines.
• Administer AWS WorkSpaces, EC2, and Linux/Windows in the Beavercreek facility.
• Manage containerized apps in Kubernetes and related tooling.
• Administer AD domains, groups, and permissions; manage accounts.
• Automate VM provisioning, OS configuration, and software deployment.
• Prepare technical documentation; support backup and recovery.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues; document actions.
• Collaborate with security team supporting a DoD mission; after-hours support as needed.

Job description

• Provide design, maintenance, and enhancement support for classified virtual infrastructure architecture
• Ensure compliance with applicable information assurance requirements
• Ensure 24/7 continuity of operations
• Create and update relevant system documents
• Support enterprise virtual infrastructure at the Beavercreek, Ohio facility
• Provision, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Amazon WorkSpaces and EC2 instances running Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Administer management systems and containerized applications deployed in Kubernetes cluster environments
• Administer Microsoft Active Directory domains, including account management, group policy, authentication, permissions, and domain integration
• Automate virtual-machine provisioning, operating-system configuration, software deployment, and routine administration
• Prepare documentation related to system configurations and baselines
• Provide backup and recovery services; manage file systems and disk space
• Troubleshoot virtualized hardware, software, and network problems
• Manage user accounts and access controls in domain or stand-alone environments
• Work normal business hours with occasional non-business-hours support as required
• Collaborate with a specialized corporate IT and security team supporting a growing Air Force mission

• Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Windows and Linux Systems Administrator supporting patching, installation, configuration, maintenance, and flaw remediation of virtualized servers, workstations, and other computing components
• Valid Top Secret clearance with in-scope background investigation date
• DoD Directive 8570 / 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification (CompTIA Security+)
• Experience administering and troubleshooting Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux within an Amazon environment
• Experience with system hardening, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and configuration management
• Ability to monitor systems, troubleshoot operational issues, and document configurations, procedures, and corrective actions
• Working knowledge of AWS, including EC2, Amazon WorkSpaces, and AWS Systems Manager (SSM)
• Experience with Ansible or other automation tools
• Working knowledge of S3, EFS, NFS, FSx, SMB, and NTFS storage file systems
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS, SSH, LDAP, and network troubleshooting
• Understanding of DISA STIGs, SCAP, vulnerability scanning, system hardening, and security remediation
• Experience with PowerShell, Bash, and/or Ansible
• Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and configuration records
• Ability to work in an Agile environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple networks in a dynamic, demanding environment
• Prior experience as a System Administrator in an organization of similar enterprise size and complexity (desired)
• Preferred experience with Docker, EKS/Kubernetes, Terraform/IaC, Helm, Git/GitLab, container registries, and containerized applications
• Working knowledge of SSO, OIDC, SAML, IdP, and MFA
• Preferred experience with Keycloak, AppGate SDP, and Zero Trust technologies
• Understanding of networking concepts and cybersecurity tools, including DISA STIG, SCAP, and vulnerability scanners
