Job summary

Mass General Brigham Incorporated is seeking an Access RN to lead system-wide coordination, using clinical expertise and bed-management insights to match patients with the right site of care. The role aims to reduce transfer delays, balance patient flow, and activate standardized transfer pathways across the network.

The Access RN will work with the PTAC team and site leaders to ensure timely access, make critical triage decisions, and support cross-site patient movement as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree Nursing required.
• Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred.
• Registered Nurse license required.
• 3+ years of experience in adult critical care and/or emergency department.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with hospital bed management teams to support patient movement across the system.
• Elicits patient information from referring MD and outside facility nurse for triage and placement.
• Monitors notification processes for admissions and transfers, coordinating with attending physicians and house staff.
• Represents the department in daily huddles and collaborates with leadership during census updates and transfers.
• Directs patients to appropriate care pathways across diagnoses and operational situations.
