Job summary
Valley Health in Winchester, VA seeks a Professional Development Specialist to lead system-wide nurse education strategies, governance, and competency frameworks, improving care quality and workforce readiness.
You will partner with leaders and educators to standardize onboarding, transition to practice, and professional development, while ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient use of resources.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing or related field.
- 5 years of clinical, educational, or nursing leadership experience.
- 3+ years of NPD or nursing education experience preferred.
- NPD-BC certification preferred; BLS certification required within 18 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Leads system-wide education strategy, governance, and design.
- Defines standardized curricula and competency frameworks across the system.
- Partners with leaders to translate priorities into strategic education plans.
- Designs onboarding, transition to practice, and leadership development programs.
- Establishes KPIs and dashboards to measure impact and drive improvements.
- Ensures regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards compliance.
