Job summary

The Valley Health system is seeking a Professional Development Educator in Behavioral Health to lead onboarding, competency, and workforce development across care settings in Winchester, VA. You will partner with leaders and interprofessional teams to promote safe clinical practice and professional growth.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, Virginia RN licensure, and 2–3 years of clinical experience with education or precepting. NPD-BC or related certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing and an RN license in Virginia are required.
• 2–3 years of clinical experience with education, precepting, or professional development preferred.
• NPD-BC or related certification preferred within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implements onboarding, orientation, competency, and ongoing learning programs.
• Facilitates instructor-led learning using adult education principles.
• Supports competency validation and coaching to strengthen clinical practice.
• Collaborates with leaders and interprofessional teams to sustain workforce readiness.
