Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory sciences or nursing.
CIC certification to be obtained within 2 years.
Typically 7 years of infection control, nursing, public health or related experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee infection prevention programs, policies, and procedures to meet safety and regulatory goals.
Collect, analyze and report data on infection trends and performance measures.
Collaborate with staff and physicians to improve data collection and prevention strategies.
Apply epidemiological and statistical methods to identify risk factors and design controls.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and prepare for surveys.
Lead education initiatives and coordinate prevention activities with clinics and departments.
Perform infection prevention rounds and outbreak investigations as directed.
