Job summary

Atrium Health seeks a system-level infection prevention leader to oversee programs, interpret data and implement evidence-based guidelines across the system. You will act as a consultant, reduce infection risks, and mentor staff while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with clinics and physicians, develop educational tools, and lead rounds and investigations to improve patient safety and outcomes across facilities.

Qualifications

• Infection Control (CIC) certification or obtained within 2 years.
• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Nursing.
• Typically requires 7 years of experience in infection control, nursing, public health and/or medical technology.
• Knowledge of infection prevention principles and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversees infection prevention programs, policies and procedures to prevent infections.
• Collects, analyzes and reports data on infections for performance measures and investigations.
• Collaborates with staff and physicians to develop data collection processes.
• Applies epidemiological methods to identify trends and design prevention strategies.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and prepares sites for surveys.
• Promotes coordination between medical center and clinic initiatives.
• Develops and delivers educational programs and tools.
• Conducts infection prevention rounds and outbreak investigations as directed.
• Assists with human resources responsibilities and staff development.
• Assists with budget development and operating controls.
