Job summary

Wellstar Health System seeks an experienced Manager of Infection Prevention to oversee the program, lead surveillance, and align goals with hospital and system strategies. The role reports to the Executive Director of Infection Prevention and collaborates with Nursing and Quality leadership to drive safety and compliance.

The position requires CIC certification, a Bachelor's in a related field, and 5+ years in infection prevention with 2+ years in leadership, in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required.
• CIC certification required upon hire.
• Minimum 5 years infection prevention in acute care setting or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years healthcare leadership experience in a supervisory/lead role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee infection prevention department operations.
• Lead surveillance, data analysis and NHSN/CMS reporting.
• Mentor team members and coordinate cross-functional collaboration.
• Ensure Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, NHSN and state regulation compliance.
• Prepare and present reports to Nursing, Quality and Medical staff committees.
