Job description

We’re seeking a proactive System Support Specialist to join our team supporting member cities across Missouri. If you’re passionate about IT, enjoy troubleshooting, and thrive in a dynamic, service-oriented environment, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and secure data networks and servers.
• Perform preventative maintenance on hardware and network equipment.
• Assist with data backups/restores and new equipment acquisition.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting (on-site & remote).
• Collaborate with city teams to assess needs and recommend solutions.
• Implement system upgrades and train staff on IT best practices.
• Document configurations and procedures; maintain system security.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
• Travel up to 50% to member sites across Missouri.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field required; Bachelor’s preferred (or equivalent technical experience).
• Experience with network management, Microsoft server technologies, and Microsoft 365.
• Familiarity with VoIP and video conferencing systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
