Job summary

Waters is seeking a System Support Specialist 1 (SSS1) in Sparks, MD to provide technical service support for the BD COR System and related diagnostic instrumentation.

The role focuses on applying systems-thinking, investigating issues, and delivering reliable service solutions in a regulated, high-volume environment. Onsite daily work is required and collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical Engineering.
• Relevant internship or thesis-based applications in Medical Technology, Life Sciences, and Diagnostic Instrument development or a combination of education and professional experience.
• Experience evaluating technical problems using analytical and data-driven approaches.
• Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems, automation, and software-enabled instrumentation.
• Experience or willingness to work effectively as a technical contributor on cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work Onsite daily.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates problems of moderate complexity and applies analytical/scientific principles to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems under general direction.
• Drives root cause investigations, both remote and on-site, to resolve field issues, collaborating across Service, Quality and R&D.
• Assumes a technical contributor role and works closely with other functional groups, such as systems engineering, software engineering, quality engineering and operations.
• Collects, analyzes and interprets service, product health and field performance data to identify trends, support corrective and preventative actions, and propose operational and system improvements.
• Develops, reviews and maintains service engineering documentation, including service procedures, checklists and technical guides.
