Job summary

BD USA Sparks is seeking an entry-level System Support Specialist 1 within Global Technical Services for the BD COR System. This role applies systems-thinking to support fielded diagnostic systems, ensuring reliability, serviceability and a high-quality customer experience across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Electrical Engineering; relevant internship or thesis-based applications.
• Experience evaluating technical problems with analytical and data-driven approaches.
• Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems, automation and software-enabled instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates problems of moderate complexity and applies analytical/scientific principles to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems under general direction.
• Drives root cause investigations, both remote and on-site, to resolve field issues, collaborating across Service, Quality and R&D.
• Assumes a technical contributor role and works closely with other functional groups, such as systems engineering, software engineering, quality engineering and operations.
• Collects, analyzes and interprets service, product health and field performance data to identify trends, support corrective and preventative actions, and propose operational and system improvements.
• Develops, reviews and maintains service engineering documentation, including service procedures, checklists and technical guides.
