Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, CO is seeking a D5LE2 System Safety Engineering Lead for the Fleet Ballistic Missile program. You will serve as the primary point of contact for system safety and lead safety analysis across the program, coordinating with IPTs and customers to ensure compliance and timely milestones.

The role requires a BS in engineering or related field, strong communication skills, and experience in system safety disciplines, with potential Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the engineering development lifecycle.
  • Must have experience in requirements derivation, decomposition, and verification.
  • Experience with contractual requirements and their execution throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Subject matter expert in the System Safety discipline.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance.
  • Experience interfacing with Customer and Program Management.
  • Software Safety experience.
  • Experience working in System Safety Working Groups - SSWG, WSESRB, SSSTRP, etc
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience identifying critical hardware & software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the safety analysis development across the program.
  • Be responsible for presenting the safety assessment strategy and status to the customer and for major program milestone reviews.
  • Perform system and subsystem safety in accordance with MIL-STD-882E.
  • Collaborate across the FBM program IPTs to foster a positive safety culture.
