Job summary

RTX is seeking a System Safety Engineer II for an onsite role in the U.S. (Woburn, MA and surrounding locations). You will apply system safety/HSI principles to protect people, hardware, and the environment while supporting the program IMS and coordinating with IPTs.

The role requires a STEM degree and about two years of relevant experience, with knowledge of risk assessment concepts and experience in technical reporting and presentations. Relocation is eligible and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with risk assessment concepts.
• Experience with creating technical reports, technical writing and/or creating presentations.

Responsibilities

• Execute the safety strategy for the program to meet milestones with system safety/HSI features.
• Support the program IMS with integrated system safety tasks.
• Engage with Lead System Safety Engineer for guidance and reviews.
• Support multi-IPT program meetings to address system safety items.
• Ensure leadership understands system safety requirements, hazards, and mitigations.
• Own technical solutions and collaborate across IPTs to enable successful development and testing.
